Meant to Be Mine – Book Review
If you’ve read any of my book reviews you may have noticed a trend. Christian Fiction… I devour it. Everything from Beverly Lewis’s Amish Fiction to Karen Kingsbury’s novels. I love how I can dive into a story about a couple or a family or an individual and go on a journey with them, some are those fighting to find God’s love. Others need to be reminded, but in every book I’ve read (in Christian Fiction), I find myself learning more about His love and more about how to grow closer to Him.
The latest book I’ve read did exactly that. Meant to Be Mine was a fabulous read. The books starts out with a young woman, Celia, who takes a short weekend vacation to Las Vegas with her college friend. She runs into her high school crush, Ty, and things escalate from there…. she ends up marrying the guy in a Vegas chapel and they celebrate their wedding night in his fancy hotel room (he’s a famous bull rider). The next morning he realizes that he probably made a drunken mistake…. and they part ways.
The book skips ahead 5 1/2 years and you discover that the couple never divorced but they had never seen each other again. Ty has become a national bull riding phenomenon and Celia is doing what she can to raise her young daughter and to pay the bills. Ty decides to look for Celia in an attempt to apologize and make amends and discovers that he is madly in love with the woman he married. Through their relationship and their hardships both find that God’s love is the ONLY thing that will make their love worthwhile…
