Love These Babies!
It’s been a while since I really posted about life and the kids… and myself in general. Sure, there have been posts here and there updating on the kids and such, but I’ve neglected what I wanted this blog to really be about. I do love sharing reviews and giveaways, but that’s not what I want my sole focus to be.
Our family is growing very quickly before my eyes! That also means new challenges and phases to learn and work through. I realize that as our children get older each age will show different and harder challenges, but so far, with our experience…. age 3 is ROUGH.
Boogie is really coming into her own, she’s also incredibly headstrong, stubborn and her emotions run high. She’s very tender hearted, as she has always been… I have a feeling that her teenage years will be full of a rollercoaster of emotions, and someday, when she starts having babies, her pregnancies will be as emotional as I have found myself during mine. At age 3, she has definitely started challenging J and I when it comes to discipline and respect. She’s pushing boundaries, pushing our patience, and she constantly makes me question whether I’m doing the right thing as a parent or not. It’s HARD… but she’s also teaching me so much about being a mother, I love that she is my oldest and that she and I are learning together. My beautiful girl is going to be a remarkable young woman, I know that with all the things she is showing me at the tender age of 3, that she will be a strong and determined woman.
Bubby… oh sweet, adorable Bubby. This boy of mine, we are constantly joking that God made him awfully cute for good reason. As Bubby says when he gets scolded or in trouble, “naughty, naughty!” Indeed… this child is naughty! Not to say he isn’t also incredibly sweet and well mannered most of the time, but he is constantly keeping me on my toes. He gets into EVERYTHING, we think we have everything Bubby proofed and then BAM! He finds something else to get into. It’s insane! That’s been really new for us, Boogie never really got into anything once we toddler proofed our home, he’s been an entirely different story however. But as many times as I’m running to get him out of a mess or chasing him down to clean him up, I find myself, twice as often, in fits of hysterical laughter. This kid is hilarious, and he has a smile that just SCREAMS of naughtiness. We took the kids to a blueberry patch yesterday and the ENTIRE time, Bubby was just shoveling berry after berry into his mouth. He had absolutely no interest in picking and putting them in our baskets. This kid is amazing, I can’t wait to see the joy he brings to the rest of our lives.
I am so blessed to have these babies call me Mommy, Baby Bird is going to have the best big sister and brother she could wish for. They might drive me absolutely insane some days (like today… as I’m trying to do my best to rest so I can get rid of this awful plague that J was SO kind to share with me) but the best days outweigh the worst!

Your kids are adorable!! I have heard age 3 is really tough, we have a little ways to go before we get there but I am already nervous. So exciting that you are getting ready to welcome baby number 3! Good luck!!

Thank you! Don’t be nervous, other things get easier so it truly balances out! Lots of transitions the older they get!

Looks like we are sailing in the same boat. My daughter is 22 months old and she is always bamming into things. And every time I call for diaper change, she runs away, pretending to play tag with me. But she also have some tantrum. It is fun and challenging and tiring but we learn so much from our kids.

Ah, aren’t toddlers fun? Haha! I keep asking myself why we decided to have 3 children with 2 years between each one… I think it’s bad now, what are the teenage years going to be like?! Ha!

Cute kids! I have 2 in the 2’s and I’m shocked when people tell me 3 is worse. How is that possible!? Hang in there mama! Still the best job in the world.

I don’t think I would have believed it either! I think it gets easier in different ways, but harder in others (of course that’s probably true for all ages!).
