The Miner’s Lady Book Review

I was excited to receive the opportunity to read and review one of Tracie Peterson’s books, I haven’t been disappointed in the books I’ve read written by this author before. This particular book is set in Ely, Minnesota in the late 1800’s, two families (the Panetta’s and the Calarco’s) have been in a dispute for as long as anyone can remember… however Isabella Panetta and Orland Calarco have fallen in love. When I first started reading this, I immediately thought of Romeo and Juliet… these young adults face storms to keep their love and relationship together.

A horrible mining accident puts life into perspective for Isabella’s father and because of this he decides it’s high time to make amends and put the past in the past with the Calarco family. These families face turmoil, trouble, heartache…. so what will become of Isabella and Orlando? Do they find a way to bring their families together, or is this another Romeo and Juliet tragedy?
