Bubby is 11 Months(!) and Family Fall Photos
My monster is 11 months old today… I’m in shock. Seriously? He’s almost one! And not only that, but Boogie is almost THREE. My sweet babies are growing up! We took the kids to my mom and dad’s to take some fall pictures and so I could do Bubby’s 11 month pics with Max the Monkey (if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been taking his monthly pics with his monkey we named Max… Scentsy buddies are AWESOME!). So… enjoy the pictures and a few updates on my big little man!
Bubby weighs 19.8 pounds and is 27.5 inches tall. He is a big WALKING boy – yes! You read that right, he doesn’t walk ALL the time, but he can walk all the way across the room. His biggest issue with walking is that he gets too excited and tries to run… and he’s not quite ready for that!
Bubby’s favorite words right now are “mamaw” (she’s thrilled of course), “go go go!” and “ball”. He is also still saying “dad-day” or “da da”, “ma ma”, “come on”, “buh bye”, “mil” (aka milk), “nana”, “papaw”, and a few others I can’t think of right now.
This picture is a completely accurate depiction of their relationship…. Boogie trying to love on him (a bit too roughly as usual) and Bubby making crazy EEEEEK! faces, hahaha!
This week is going to be pretty crazy for our family. J will be helping with the fall festival AND trick or treating at work, so tomorrow he will be there while mom and I take the kids to that festival, and then to our church festival. Immediately after that Boogie has Awana. Then on Thursday (Halloween) we have a hot dog dinner and Trunk or Treating at Awana, trick or treating at J’s work, and then possibly MORE trick or treating at my mother in law’s work. I’m tired just thinking about all of that!
We are trying to get this monster baby to sleep in his bed at night… he goes down about 7:30 most days and will sleep for 1-2 hours, go back down again and sleep for 1-2 hours, and then wake up once more and go down before we go to sleep. He’ll sleep in his bed for maybe 2 hours ( I say maybe, because I honestly have no idea) and we bring him back to bed. Now… don’t ask me if I remember bringing him to bed, don’t even ask J… because neither one of us EVER remember doing that. But at least he’s sleeping half the night in his bed…. right?!?
Look how big my Boogie is getting! Sweet Boog will be three in December, and let me tell you…. she is three going on sixteen! She is in love with school, she asks me every day, “Mommy!? Is it time for school yet? I want to do school!” And I kid you not, when we are done with the activities for the day she CRIES. So I usually end up pulling out some extra stuff or a coloring book for her to do… she LOVES it! Which of course makes this momma’s heart happy, and reassures me that we are doing the right thing by home schooling (or in our case at the moment, tot schooling!).
And see that look? That is just one of her many… she cracks me up! During this picture she was helping me tell Mamaw how a pumpkin grows (from seed to sprout, from sprout to vine, from vine to flower, from flower to green pumpkin, from green pumpkin to orange pumpkin). She really enjoyed that lesson for our ‘P’ is for pumpkin week. She is also working on memorizing her first memory verse which is:
“Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord for He is food. His love endures forever.” -Psalm 106:1
She also knows “A” is for apple and what sound the “A” makes (at least the short sound for now… we’ll add the long sounds later), “M” is for monster, and “P” is for pumpkin. She can count to 20 with help, to 15 by herself. She knows all of her colors, though sometimes mixes up black and white, and she knows all of her shapes. She can sing all of her ABC’s and even slows down so she can get “L, M, N, O, P” right!
Thanks mom and dad for helping us get some great pictures today! And can I say just how much I LOVE this picture?!? My dad’s personality is TOTALLY shining through!

Both of your children are so adorable. And yes! Relish in the moments of their baby-hood because they do grow up so fast. Thanks for sharing 🙂
